"And Jesus went down with Mary and Joseph,
and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them."
~ Luke 2:51
This weekend, we will be celebrating the feast of the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Now, what happened to the marital life of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph after Christ's birth?
The Catholic Church has always taught that the Blessed Virgin Mother of God is always a Virgin. She was a Virgin before the birth of Christ and She is still a Virgin after the Birth of Christ.
It is a fact that Holy Mary was never been touched by St. Joseph. St. Joseph was completely surprised that Mary was carrying a child. He was shocked because he knew that he never slept with Mary. When he learned that Mary was pregnant, He planned to divorce her in secret. It was a normal human reaction of St. Joseph because it seemed that he was cheated by Our Blessed Lady.
Thanks be to God! The angel told St. Joseph that the Blessed Virgin Mary was not a cheater! The Blessed Virgin Mary did not sleep with another guy. The child that she was carrying was conceived by the Holy Ghost! She was literally carrying God in her womb! Well, God is God! He can do whatever He wants. His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are different from ours. If God wants to become a Child, who are we to question Him? If God wants to be in the womb of the Virgin Mary for 9 months, who are we to stop Him?

St. Joseph did not touch the Blessed Virgin Mary neither before nor after the Birth of Christ. Why? St. Joseph knew that His wife was a Temple of God. He knew that His wife was and is a holy person. St. Joseph was a just man! As a just man, He lived a chaste life with the Blessed Mother.
An arrogant heretic says, "It is impossible that Joseph did not have a sexual life with Mary. No way! Joseph was a normal human being like us. If I were Joseph, I would not be happy. Marital life is part of marriage."
My answer to that arrogant heretic is that it was true that Joseph was like us. Unlike the Blessed Virgin Mary, Joseph was conceived and was born with original sin. St. Joseph was not exempted. But St. Joseph was a just man! He listened to the Word of God! That is why God chose him to be the Husband of Mary and the Foster-Father of Jesus! Thanks be to God that an arrogant heretic like you did not become the Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. If you were the Husband of Mary, I do not know what will happen to! It is difficult to image! (???)
One of the proofs that the the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph made a vow of perpetual chastity was the fact that Jesus never had any brothers or sisters. When Our Blessed Lord was dying on the cross, He entrusted His Mother to St. John. If the Virgin Mary had other children, why would Our Lord entrusted her to St. John? The Virgin Mary had Jesus as Her only child. After the death of Jesus, St. John took care of her until She was taken by Jesus into Heaven both Body and Soul.
Our Lady and St. Joseph were so lucky that God made Himself subject to them! God was under their care for several years! In this New Year of 2019, let us ask the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph to help us follow the Will of God and to be obedient to His Word.
St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary endured many trials and hardships on the first Christmas.of the world. They walked miles and miles. They looked and looked for a decent place to house the Baby Jesus. Yes, the Baby Jesus was born in the manger of Bethlehem. They walked from to place. They went to Egypt and stayed there a for a while. It was a hard time for the Holy Family but I am pretty sure that despite the hardships and trials, St. Joseph and Our Lady were still happy because of the Baby Jesus.
Like St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary, we are also looking for your help. We need a place for Jesus. We need a place for the Holy Family. We need a place for all the saints. We need a place where we can gather together to worship God! We need a permanent place of worship. We are in need of your help to help us buy the land where we can build a permanent Church and a cemetery. The Church will be under the patronage of St. Anthony of Padua. Will you be able to help? Will you be able to make a donation as a sacrifice for the Poor Souls in Purgatory, for the conversion of sinners and for the reclamation and restoration of our Holy Catholic Faith?
